The Witch of Yazoo

The Witch of Yazoo City, Ms. In 1884, a woman would entice fishermen into the swamp and torture them. When the Sheriff went out to find the woman, she ran and fell into a quicksand pit. As she sunk, she vowed that she would come back in 20 years and burn the city down.

Nobody gave it much thought until May 25, 1904 when the city burned down. When people went to the Witch’s grave, the chains around the grave were broken. Here is a video of us visiting the site.
